Diamond in the Rough [Duke] (closed)

Fear.

It was like a living thing. A violent monster who lived to make its host suffer. A disease that invaded and destroyed everything in it's path. Few were immune to it. Few knew the cure.

And Emily was not in those few.

It spread from the end of her nose to the nails on her paws to the tip of her tail. It was everywhere, clawing and roaring to escape and break her for good. On shaky paws, she continued forward. Everything was ragged and unsure, from her steps to her breath. She could hear, see, feel the beast of her past inside her, torturing her. If only she could escape her memories, which surrounded her like a suffocating cloud.

What she needed now was oxygen.

But what was her oxygen?

Eventually, she collapsed. She didn't remember when, or how, but she was suddenly aware that she was lying on the cold ground. She didn't even move. She needed to take a minute to think... Or to stop thinking. Maybe that was her oxygen; complete silence both in her mind and in her ears. Her stormy grey eyes fluttered, and she focused on her breathing and slowing it down.

Once it was almost back to normal, she still didn't get up. There was nothing to live for. There never was. Growing up under an abusive teacher, who hid the greatest secret which had haunted her everyday for months? Then randomly tell her the answer to the puzzle and rape her? Then allow other males to do the same, as if that was the only reason to still be alive?

And that's how she knew she was seriously screwed up.

So she lay there in the snow, the cloud growing ever thicker and choking her worse than before. Will it always be this way? Living as a toy for males to use for pleasure? Such a terrible ideal... Yet she's lived in such a world for almost 3 years now... She would be able to carry pups soon... What then? Will she ever be able to trust anybody enough to let them in? For real, to her emotions, the feelings she keeps locked up... Will she ever let them see her? The real Emily?

She didn't even know if the real her was the real her anymore...

Should she just lay there in self pity until some nasty predator comes and takes her life? Or until another wolf comes and kills her? She certainly wouldn't fight back. She'd forgotten how to actually fight back...

Yeah.

Seriously screwed up.

Duke was in no mood to fool around. The ghosts of the past tormenting him from the corner of his eye, fueling his aggravation. They whisper sweet nothings and sins to his torn ear. Tempting him. When will he ever get a break. His lips curl up in a faint snarl, in hopes to scare his fears to the back of his head. Fears were for the weak, and he was anything but weak.

Lifting his head high, Duke padded forward in the cool snow. The alpha stopped here and there to rub his thick winter coat against the trees, transferring his masculine scent to its bark. It was a warning to others that dare trust past. It also hold a hidden message for loners, searching for more members. As of late, Duke been thinking of finally growing after so many lost. After all the prey was ever so slowly coming back, why not attempt of rebuilding what was lose.

With a flick of his tail, he leap over an overgrown root with ease. The illness never got to him, making him the strongest and biggest wolf in his territory. He always wondered why that illness skipped right over him. It almost wanted to torment his soul with the blood of his pack on his fangs. To spite him. It worked. Driving him near insanity. His only hope is to surround himself with others, possibly their own aura could be spread to him helping calm his acing soul. Or he will stick to his heartless ways, lashing out on those who do not deserve his canines digging in their flesh.

The stench of wolf broke him out of his thoughts. His golden eyes narrow, searching for the dreaded source. A dark growl rumble from his chest, eyes finding a lighter shade of brown being buried in the snow. Duke took his time approaching the wolf. The smell reeked of female, and of fear. The sight almost draw a small amount of pity from the alpha. Almost.

Without remorse, Duke lunge forward. Not to kill but to drag. His jaws locked around the pathetic female, and dragged her out of the snow hole that formed around her. Now able to see her better, Duke tower over her shivering form eyeing her coldly. "Now look what the frost brought in." He all but mumbled, his voice holding an undertone of amusement.

She yelped loudly as she was drug out of the snow. "No, stop! Ow! Stop it! Leave me alone!" she cried, but as she was released, she found a terrifying brute staring her down. She started to breathe heavily, fear rolling off her in waves. She shivered violently as he spoke, no so much from the cold but from his voice. It was quiet, but he could've yelled for how badly it scared her.

"Sir, I-I-I-I can exp-p-plain," she stammered. She actually couldn't; she had no excuse. Her tan form trembled under his golden gaze.

The male towered over her, his pelt blazing in the morning sunlight. She scrambled to her paws, ducking her head until her nose almost touched the snowy ground. This wasn't good. She could tell he wasn't happy, and when males weren't happy, they made sure she was miserable. Her eyes hesitantly met his. "I will leave your territory, sir," she said, gulping and hoping he'd just turn her away. But considering her luck, she figured she wouldn't be so fortunate.

{OOC: Es short, but I figured we could just make this a quick thread and jump into more plots ^.^}

He raised a brow, feeling the fear rolling off of her in massive waves. His lips twitched hating the scent. He could tell just by her figure that the she wolf was weak. A simple squeeze around the throat would sever her despicable life, sad thing was the way she was acting it seems she wouldn't even attempt to fight back.

The brutes torn ear flickers in thought. He could use her. He needed another body for work and maybe a practice dummy to vent all his frustrations. With that in mind, Duke lean forward towards the others neck, taking a small wiff of her scent going pass the fear. His lips curl once more, demanding submission from the she wolf. His eyes flare orange from the morning like reflected off of them that shine through the trees. "You're not going anywhere pup." He ordered, pressing a paw on her hip to keep her down. "What do they call you?" He barked voice steely. He was not use to address others having been alone with his ghost for so long. He had no clue his aggression did to the other wolf. He was simply following the dark emotion he been feeling for so long. Calling for blood.

As she had attempted to rise, he pushed her back down and pinned her hip to the snow. His voice sent violent tremors through her small frame. "Please, sir!" she begged, avoiding his question about her name.

She directly deflected his command for her title, which was terrible for her. She regretted it the moment after she said it, and opened her mouth to speak, but she was so terrified, no words came out. What would he do now? Kill her? Violate her? Force her into his ranks? Make her his slave? All because of a screw up with her words. She wasn't sure if she was even her anymore; it seemed as if she was made of fear and fear only. More trembling shook her body under his steely gaze. The weight of his paw on her hip made her hyperaware that he had nasty intentions.

Was he like the males she'd met? Or was this just him being alpha for the moment? Would he lighten up, or continue to be harsh? Would he turn her away? Make her omega? She shivered from both the cold and his close proximity.

He tusked in annoyance as she avoided her question. Running out of patience quickly, he snap his jaws close to her muzzle. His warm breath grazing her ear, where his mouth full of canines was, still as could be. "Don't make me repeat myself." Duke huffs, watching as she crumbled in front of him. Just the way she act told him more then enough. She was a broken she wolf. He didn't care. What was in the past was in the past. He didn't care for sob stories after all everyone had one. The bad thing about this ordeal, she reminded him of himself. Which pissed him off even more.

"If you refuse to give me a name I'll just have to make one for you." He almost purred, a smirk gracing his muzzle. A few names came to mind that would suit the weakling perfectly. Once he was done with her, she wouldn't be in this shape ever again. He pressed his paw a little harder now, signalling his patience was wearing thin. His dark eyes coldly regarded her. "How does that sound, little bird?" His brow rose, amused. She was like a bird with no wings. Unable to soar, all broken and beaten. It was the perfect name for her. "You will be addressing me as Alpha and nothing else. So drop the sir." He snapped quickly.

She yelped as he snapped near her face. She dared not speak, in fear of screwing up again. She tightly shut her stormy eyes, silently pleading that he'd just let her go. He pressed harder on her frail form, and she whimpered with eyes and mouth still sealed closed. Let me go, she begged internally.

Little Bird. Oh God no. Jace, her old pack's Beta, used to call her Little Jay, which was close to what this stranger was calling her now. That only meant bad things for her. She couldn't express her fear and pure terror that history was going to repeat itself. The life she had run away from was coming straight back to get her. As he corrected her his brow had raised with humor. She held her breath, again not daring to speak. It seemed the tone in his voice was taunting her, begging for her to speak and actually give him a real reason to hurt her, aside from being a mess that she was. Her tan figure was slowly becoming coated with a white blanket of snow from struggling on the ground. Most of it had melted and sunk into her skin, chilling her to the bone. She wanted to move, to shake the frozen feeling from her body, but she couldn't. Not while this brute was here. This alpha.

Duke tilted his head, watching as she was shivering much to frighten to speak a word. Duke suppose he showed his dominance long enough, satisfied with her submission. Stepping off of her, the alpha Sat back on his haunches curling his tail around his paws. He still tower over the female still showing he was in fact the boss. His pink tongue darted out, running across his muzzle. He didn't really care for her name. He would rip it out of her later now their were more pressing matters to attend.

His eyes roam over her figure tusking with irritation. "You're nothing but skin and bone." He growled. In his dark mind, Duke already accepted her as his pack member not caring if she didn't want anything to do with him. He couldn't have his pack weak like this little bird was. He would have to fix that. Duke smirked, the tip of his tail twitching. "Little bird, welcome to the Oak pack." He chuckles. "I've appoint you as my beta. I hope you know what that title entails." Duke purred, baring his fangs. She would do everything he orders with no complain. If he heard one little peep from the little bird, he make sure to remind her who was in charge.

Getting up slowly, he nudge her frail structure. "Now come along weakling, time to get you in shape." He sneer in disgust, wanting to get rid of the sight in front of him. He'll make her strong, enough to help fight the demons that reside at the edge of his mind.

Figured I'd just wrap this on up ^^
