The travel to find a pack (continued)

Armani cautiously entered the pack territory, moving stealthily among the groves of trees. She looked over to Canis every once and awhile, seeing if he had detected anything new. "Here." The female spoke, picking up a pine tree limb and padding up to the male, rubbing it's structure onto him. "This way if the wolves are hostile, they won't track our scents out of their territory." She said, running the sappy substance through her pelt. Armani had used this trick before when entering large domains, and it had seemed to work rather well.

She began to grow tense at the scents of other wolves that had crossed these paths. The dark rogue tilted her cranium towards Canis slightly before letting out a sigh. "You ready for this?" She asked, orbs twinkling slightly with excitement.

Canis ears perked forward, staying close to Armani flank. He didn't want to get ambushed anytime soon, so the male was on high alert. So far, he saw nothing out of the ordinary. He wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not. The tree branches above creaked in the wind, heavy with snow. He made sure not to stand underneath any of them. His fur was wet enough as it is. Canis noticed Armani checking on him from time to time, not to bothered about it. He wasn't going to leave her anytime soon.

As soon as she spoke about rubbing one self with sap, Canis was about to protest but she already put some in his fur. He grunt in distaste at the sticky feeling. His fur was already messy. He liked to keep himself clean as possible. "Is this really necessary?" He pouted, the hairs clinging to him now. He was afraid shaking would make it worse. Huffing he glanced at Armani, noticing the excitement in her gaze. He couldn't help but crack a smile. "Was born ready." He retort playfully.

The snow-colored beta slipped through the snow, halting in alarm when she detected the scents of two other rogues, scents that definitely hadn't belonged in the territory before. She let out a low growl, alerting Cass before barreling towards the two, ivories bared. She wouldn't touch a hair on their heads unless her alphaess had instructed, but Callisto could hope that if they had meant harm, she could scare them off.
Callisto halted abruptly on the ledge of a boulder that rested a good five feet above the wandering strays, letting out a low growl. "And what did the blizzard bring us this time?" The female said, her calm harmonic voice echoing off of the lowered canopy of pines. The female's eyes glimmered with the light of the sunset, her body position neutral. Not inviting, yet not hostile.

Cass could sense the presence of the wolves entering the territory far before they had traveled into the grove of the forest. She loped next to Cali, assertively stepping in front of her. Her banner flicked against the beta's fore-leg, sending a signal that the alphaess had seen these two loners as no harm. She stepped towards both of them, her honey colored pelt reflecting the remaining blades of sun that had jutted through pine needles. "What is it that you two have come here for?" She asked softly, her solemn ice blue orbs concentrating on their facial features.

Canis turn sharply to the intruders, his fur bristled on instinct. He kept a growl in check, putting on an calm and collected appearance. He took a protective stance closer to his new companion. His pale fur brushing up against Armani. He eyed the two wolves, both healthy and one holding a more dominant stance than the other. Canis quickly realized they were in the presence of an alpha. Fighting back his pride, the silver wolf dip his head to the two showing his respect. It was best not to start a fight now. Even though he didn't show it, Canis was exhausted. He been moving on his paws for days with hardly enough rest. The frosty winds didn't help matters either. All in all, Canis was not at his strongest point at the moment. He couldn't fight two none the less an alpha.

"Greetings." He spoke up for the both of them, his keen eyes looking between the two females. "We came in search of a suitable pack." Canis decided to skip the formalities and go straight to the point, summarizing the whole situation. His one ear twitch backwards.

The alphaess slowly nodded as he spoke, her gaze however falling upon the silent darker loner. She looked back at the male, tongue gliding across her enamels. "And what are your names?" She inquired, audits swiveling towards the rogues as she awaited a response. They had seemed as a rather respective pair, possibly mates? "I will allow you both to join our pack. It happens to be in a bit of a vulnerable state with the lack of members, doesn't it?" Cass added, making a sweeping motion with her banner for the two loners to follow her as she began to turn, padding forth into a curtain of fog.

Armani grew quiet as Canis spoke to the females, as it seemed that he had the situation under control for now. The unique golden-colored wolf appeared the most dominant, possibly the alpha of the territory. She felt her eyes burning into her hide, but Armani avoided making contact, shifting her gaze to the path behind her. 'What are your names?' The female's voice caught her off guard, causing Armani to jump. "My name is Armani." She replied, relaxing slightly at her invite to join the pack. "And yours would be?" She added quickly, addressing both of the unknown females. Armani nudged Canis slightly when she observed the female's actions as to draw them deeper into the territory, making sure that she had kept her new friend near to her at all times during this journey.

He waited for Armani to speak before he present his name. "Canis." He said quietly, a little shocked with her quick proposal. He figured she was short on members, so he can't blame her willingness for the two to join on the spot.

He observe the golden wolf carefully. She didn't seem to be a bad canine. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to follow under her rule and judgement. With that, Canis step forward following the two females. The fog seem to cling to his silver coat. He could easily hide in this type of weather. His ears flickers in response to Armani nudge. It seems she had the same thought process as he did. Already feeling quote protective of his new found friend, Canis stuck close to her flank bringing up the rear. His golden eyes never leaving the alpha's form. He was curious of their answer to Armani question.

Cass rammed against a weakened sapling, causing it to fall over so that they could cross a freezing river that was known for stronger currents. Her audits swiveled back to the female that was known as Armani. "My name is Golden Cascade." She said confidently, leading them to the main campsite. "You could call me Cass for short if you would like." The alphaess offered, taking a sharp turn into an overgrown path of thorns. "I'm guessing that you two are a bit tired, correct?" Cass asked, slightly looking over her shoulder to the two wanderers. "I'll bring you to the dens to get rest tonight. We can sort things out in the morning." She finished, making sure to get to the point.
